Zéphyros Awarded 2017 Commissioning Grant from Chamber Music America

We’re thrilled to have been awarded a 2017 Commissioning Grant from Chamber Music America to commission and perform a new work for wind quintet by American composer David Sanford. David is one of the most exciting composers working today, combining jazz, funk and modern classical music. We couldn’t think of someone we’d rather write for us. The piece is slated to be completed in late 2018 with performances to follow soon after.

Rockport Music Series • Rockport, MA • March 22, 2017

The Shalin Liu Performance Center in Rockport, MA is one of the most beautiful concert venues in which we’ve ever had the pleasure of performing. Looking out to the ocean on stage, the hall looks as good as it sounds. We had a wonderful time getting to know Rockport and its community during our week-long residency and concert.
